Royston Hockey Club
50th Anniversary Celebration

On Saturday 12th July 2008

Royston Hockey Club will celebrate its 50th Anniversary.
To help us mark this achievement we would like as many former members as possible to join current
players, umpires and friends of the club for a gala event at the Heath Sports Club, Royston. We will celebrate a mixture of great moments from both local and
international hockey, as well as enjoy a Champagne reception, dinner and dancing
to live music from across the years. We want to take this opportunity to recognise
the contributions made by all those people who have given time and energy over
the last fifty years to help develop Royston Hockey Club into the thriving
organisation it is today.

If you would like more details please contact: Katie Ellard, Secretary RHC,
via secretary@roystonhockey.co.uk

IT's NOT A RUMOUR

The rumours are true, that one of the Five Counties Clubs has a treble first!!
Welwyn Garden City Hockey Club
have not only three sets of mothers
and daughters one mother as two daughters playing for the same team.

Here is the proof that they can most certainly beat Letchworth's 'mother/daughters
In the picture from left to right we have:
The Warringtons - Janet with her two daughters Sally (left) and Lucy (right)
The Owens - Lizzie with mum Sue
The Moores - Mairi with daughter Kate All playing for WGC Ladies 4th eleven.

In fact Debbie Church Ladies Captain said we have a further two mother and daughter sets currently playing - Karol and Holly Butrimas-Gair and Sue and Nicki Rowe...not to mention numerous sisters, aunties, uncles, fathers and sons, husbands and wives -
Welwyn is very much a family club!

Can any other club/team do better?
We want your photographs!

The photograph below is from Letchworth Hockey Club ladies 3rd XI, and they believe they have a first!! The ladies in the picture are (from left to right) Sheila and Justine Lucas, Hannah and Geri White - two sets of mother and daughter playing in the same team (dated 16/10/04) - can any other club/team do better?
From Julie Fewings LHC Ladies Club Captain

Debbie Hickman Rothamsted Hockey Club clams that for the last two seasons
they have had both Lorraine and Gemma Stanesby and Eileen and Lynne Englebright (two sets of mothers and daughters) playing for Rothamsted (awaiting picture)

Can any other club/team do better?

We want your photographs!

If you have any photographs that you think might fit into this website please
